Eurecat, the MED4Youth’s coordinator, participated in ExproReus, the multi-sectorial fair of reference in Tarragona area, celebrated from 11th – 15th of October in Fira Reus (Tarragona, Spain).
Lorena Calderón, researcher at the Nutrition & Health Unit of Eurecat, participated in the event, under the framework of the FoodTech & Nutrition Hub, delivering the presentation “Promotion of Healthy Dietary Habits: Families & Mediterranean Diet”, which highlighted MED4Youth as one of the key European projects of the centre conducting an interventional nutrition study to demonstrate the health benefits of the Mediterranean Diet to tackle youth obesity. The presentation also included an explanation of some of the results obtained, the digital tools used and developed within the project and the typical Mediterranean Diet foods promoted by the project.
Additionally, the presentation was also focused on SwitchToHealthy, another of the nutritional projects of the centre, developing tools, methodologies and educational strategies to increase the adherence to the Mediterranean Diet of families with school-age children.
During her intervention, Lorena Calderón also mentioned some of the other Eurecat’s clinical nutritional studies that are currently open and searching for volunteers. You can find more information about all the studies here.
