Project partners from the University of Parma (UNIPR) disseminated two MED4Youth related posters during the National Congress of the Italian Society of Human Nutrition (SINU) celebrated from 4th – 6th of June in Piacenza, Italy.

Claudia Favari, project partner and Assistant Professor in Human Nutrition at the Department of Food and Drug at UNIPR, attended the congress and presented the poster titled “Development of a platform for the analysis of biomarkers of food intake and its application within the EU H2020 PREVENTOMICS and EU Prima MED4Youth projects”.

Joana Rebelo, a 1st year PhD student in Human Nutrition at the Department of Food and Drug at UNIPR, attended the congress and presented the poster untitled “Impact of the use of an educational web-application on nutritional knowledge and food consumption in children and adolescents with overweight or obesity”.

The MED4Youth project, ended last November 2023, has carried out an interventional study targeting adolescents with obesity from Spain, Portugal and Italy, to demonstrate that a Mediterranean Diet is more effective in maintaining an optimal weight and healthy habits than a conventional low-fat diet among adolescents.
