Partners from the University of Parma (Department of Medicine and Surgery, Parma University Hospital) participated in the annual meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology, focused on “Global Challenges in Paediatric Endocrinology”, taking place from 21st – 23rd of September in The Hague, Netherlands.
The European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) is an international society aimed at promoting the highest levels of clinical care for infants, children and adolescents with endocrine problems throughout the world, including in less advantaged areas.
During the event, the poster titled “First results from the ongoing MED4Youth European study: comparing Mediterranean Diet with a Low-Fat Diet for adolescents with obesity”, was showcased. The poster introduced some preliminary results of the MED4Youth Italian research study carried out with adolescents with obesity to examine the impact of a Mediterranean diet enriched with sourdough bread, nuts, pomegranate and chickpeas/hummus on maintaining an optimum weight and healthy habits.
