Project partners from the University of Coimbra presented MED4Youth to all attendees, explaining the main goals of the project, as well as the intervention nutrition study carried out with adolescents from Portugal, Spain and Italy. The study has the objective to examine the impact of a Mediterranean diet enriched with sourdough bread, nuts, pomegranate and chickpeas/hummus on maintaining an optimum weight and healthy habits.
Throughout the day it was possible to verify that MED4Youth was perceived as quite interesting and relevant in the current context of juvenile obesity, both by colleagues of the scientific community, as well as by the general population.
The University of Coimbra (UC) is a reference in higher education and R&D in Portugal, due to the quality of the courses taught at its eight colleges and to the advances achieved in pure and applied research in various scientific domains and on technology related areas.
