D4.2 Report including the analysis of biomarkers of cardiovascular risk, insulin resistance, inflammation, and adipose tissue function – Abstract

The deliverable entitled “Report including the analysis of biomarkers of cardiovascular risk, insulin resistance, inflammation and adipose tissue function” presents a general overview of the methodologies applied to quantify classical clinical parameters of cardiovascular risk and insulin resistance in plasma/serum samples, a novel biomarker of cardiovascular risk, named trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), in plasma and urine samples and several biomarkers of inflammation and adipose tissue function in plasma samples. Moreover, quantitative data on the study population of this multicentre study is presented.
